ARTEAPARTE

SHEREZADE MORALES

"Art for me is a form of universal communication, an expression that transcends the barriers of language and culture. Through my art, I can share my deepest thoughts and emotions with the world, without the need for words."

"
It is a tool to explore my own identity and reflect on human existence in general. It allows me to create beauty and find meaning in the simplest things in life. In short, art is my means to connect with myself and others, to explore the unknown and shape my inner and outer world."

I was born on the island of Lanzarote, in the Canary Islands, a place where the strength of nature and the light have deeply shaped the way I feel and create. My love and passion for art began at a very early age and were later strengthened through my academic training at the University of La Laguna. Since then, I have dedicated my life to the pursuit of beauty and artistic expression in all its forms.

For me, art is a unique form of communication — a language that transcends words and connects directly with the deepest emotions and essential experiences of human life. My work is a reflection of my view of the world and of my constant search for beauty in everyday life, in nature, and in human relationships.

Through my studio and art gallery, I have created a space where my works can be contemplated and experienced by a wider audience. There, my paintings come to life: vibrant colors and expressive forms invite the viewer into a visual experience that seeks to be both enriching and transformative.

My work as an artist is not limited to creating and exhibiting artworks; it is rooted in a deep reflection on life, humanity, and the role of art in the world. My inspiration draws from philosophy and spirituality, exploring the connections between beauty, truth, and wisdom within the human experience.

My work and artistic vision seek to go beyond the boundaries of conventional art. Each creation is an expression of my commitment to beauty, reflection, and sensitivity, with the desire to contribute to a more conscious, meaningful, and beautiful world through art.

ANUSKA

"Original Gyotaku  fish and nature impressions from the Canary
Islands and beyond."

Gyotaku (from gyo "fish" + taku "stone impressions") is the traditional Japanese method printing fish, a practice which dates back to the mid-1800s. This form of nature printing was used by fishermen to record their catches, but also become and art form of its own.

Using natural Sumi and squid ink, and printed on various types of paper or cloth in the traditional Japanese way. All prints are original and unique.

"Guided by the ocean and shaped by time in the water, my work emerges from a quiet dialogue with the sea.  Following the tradition of gyotaku, each print is made in respect for nature and for the fish that sustain us, acknowledging their life and presence through the act of printing.  Alongside fish prints, my practice extends to flora and surf-inspired works, reflecting the broader living environment of the ocean.

Using traditional gyotaku techniques, I create direct impressions of marine life—prints that carry presence, memory, and spirit.  Each piece is a moment suspended between movement and stillness, where the ocean leaves its mark."
